Gather with hundreds of other teens from around the South Central region on the campus of Southern Nazarene University for a weekend like no other! Extravagaza includes competition in sports, talent and quizzing, incredible worship services, great speakers, a gps scavenger hunt and the experience of staying on-campus at SNU. South Arkansas NYI - District Wide - 30 Hour Famine. The famine will be hosted overnight at Calvary Church of the Nazarene Friday-Saturday April 23-24, 2010. Registration will begin at 7:00pm. The opening service will start at 8:00pm. SNU will be bringing a band to lead us in worship and Linda Huggins will be our guest speaker. Extreme Reality 2010 was AWESOME! I hope you didn't miss it. Both the North and South Arkansas District's Nyi came together for the second year in a row and had an absolute BLAST! SOAR had more churches attend this event than ever! We recoreded 100+ students and youth leaders from 13 different churches: Benton, Brockington Road, Calvary, Cornerstone, Friendly Chapel, Forrest City, Glenwood, Hot Springs Lake Hamilton, Little Rock First, New Hope, Springlake, Waldron, & West Memphis. Thanks for coming out!!!

The event was great... from the kick-off service with the Inside Out Band and speaker Sonny who challenged us to believe in Jesus whole heartedly. To the free pizza party, dodgeball tourney, ice/roller skating, broomball, donuts and to top it off a FREE iPod Nano give-a-way along with some SNU apparell! If you didn't make it to Extreme Reality this year, put this event on your "things-to-do" for next year! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

October 10, 2009 marked the second SOAR District Quiz of the '09-'10 Season. Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene hosted the event. There were 8 teams which attended: 2 Wickes, 2 Calvary/Cornerstone, 2 New Hope, 1 Greenwood, & 1 Little Rock First. Marcia Church our quiz director has done a tremendous job pulling together our quiz program here on the SOAR District. Thanks for all you do Marcia!

SYATP 2009 was incredible! From what I could gether, we had 7 churches on the district represented: Calvary, Cornerstone, HS Lake Hamilton, LR First, Springlake, New Hope, & NLR Friendly Chapel. There were close to 100 students and workers in attendance. Mark Maddux, along with his band, did a great job leading in worship and Kyle Wilson (speaker) challenged students to live a life with God at the Center - because life without God can be disasterous, as he shared his testimony and the life changing power Jesus has brought, pulling him out of drug addiction and giving him a second chance. A HUGE Thank You to Little Rock First Church for hosting this event!

See You at the Pole is taking place TOMORROW September 23, 2009! Meet at your school flag pole to pray for your school, the faculty and staff, students, parents, etc.

Saw You at the Pole will be held at Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene from 7:00-8:00pm. Don't miss this event. Music By: Mark Maddux and Special Guest Speaker: Kyle Wilson.

The SOAR District NYI just finished having its first NYI Council Meeting of the 2009-2010 council Saturday August 22. It was a great time together. We discussed a number of different topics pertaining to the district nyi including the introduction of our council members, quizzing for the upcomming season, the GOL mission project and our LINKS mission project, the 22nd Global Nyi Convention, 3rd Wave, See You at the Pole, Jr. & Sr. High Camps and more... Pray for your district leadership as we make decisions concerning these events and the direction of our SOAR nyi. Following the meeting we had a cook-out and Ultimate Frisbee party at Union Park in Little Rock down the street from Calvary.

This year's SOAR District Nyi Camps were awesome! Jr High Camp was directed by Susie White and Robert Yates and Sr. High Camp was directed by Parker Hull and Matt Hopkins. Both camps were awesome! Plan on attending SOAR District NYI camps next summer!!!
